Julia Margaret Cameron

At my graduation my grandparents gave me a card with this beautiful photograph on it...

The photographer is Julia Margaret Cameron, great aunt of Virginia Woolf who photographed during the last 11 years of her life. Half of her work consists of celebrity portraits, but I enjoy more the other half, her photographic illustrations. Julia wrote, "I longed to arrest all the beauty that came before me and at length the longing has been satisfied." Indeed she did arrest all that beauty. I found most of these images here.
